1937 Alec George Stratford and Florence May Mills Marriage certificate It's not clear where the particular Register Office is.
She calls her father Edward Horace - The name Horace doesn't appear on his Birth Certificate, but in 1901 in Malta her brother Horace Edward died at 9 weeks old.
He wasn't a commissioned Officer - he reached the rank of Armament Quarter Master Sergeant in the R.A.O.C. - excusable as he'd been estranged in Australia since 1920.
A Company Quartermaster Sergeant (CQMS) in the British Army is the non-commissioned officer who is in charge of supplies.
The CQMS also serves as deputy to the company sergeant major and is the second most senior NCO in the company. |
