• Court and Criminal Records: 14 Dec 1880, Hobart Supreme Court; This record from Gravesites of Tasmania seems to indicate that the lady he married in 1880 (Family 3) wasn't actually Ellen Connelly either ! "MICKLEBURGH; Benjamin Convict shipping records show Benjamin arrived in Van Dieman's Land on 26 May 1853 aboard the last convict ship St. Vincent from London. On 14 December 1880 he was found guilty at Hobart Supreme Court of Bigamy and sentenced to Four Years. His warrant number 13700. He arrived at Cambell Street Gaol a week later when shown as 43 years-old, a labourer, Catholic, with no (?) prior convictions and literate. Benjamin was released 4 June 1883 with remission. • Court and Criminal Records: 1883, Tasmania; Convict's conduct record. Note that his Native Place is recorded as Kettleborough, Norfolk. As far as I'm aware that's in Suffolk, just 30 miles south of Lowestoft. If it actually says Attleborough, that is in Norfolk and it's a big spanner in the works.
