  1. 1.  Morgan John O'CONNELL was born on 27 Aug 1811 in Grenagh, Killarney; died on 2 Jul 1873(5) in Longfield.

    Notes:

    Educated at St. Mary's, Oscott.
    Entered T.C.D. 18th Jan 1830; B.A.;
    Called to the Irish Bar, 4th May 1833.
    Represented Kerry in the British Parliament from 1835 to 1852.
    Was J.P. and D.L. for Co. Kerry, but was deprived of both commissions because he was a member of the Repeal organisation.
    The financial crash arising from the Famine led to his resignation from Parliament in 1852, when he was called to the English Bar and started to practise.
    In 1863 he succeeded his Uncle, William Coppinger, in the Barry's Court property, and, in 1864, he succeeded his mother in the Clare property - the McMahon estate.

    He was a close companion of Thackeray, and both were members (with Charles Dickens) of an institution called "Old Fielding's Club".

    Morgan married Mary Anne BIANCONI on 21 Feb 1865 in Dublin South. Mary (daughter of Charles BIANCONI and Elizabeth HAYES) was born on 16 Sep 1840 in Queenstown; died on 28 Mar 1908 in Longfield. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    1. Elizabeth Mary Agnes O'CONNELL was born on 21 Jun 1868; died in in infancy.
    2. John Charles Joseph William Coppinger O'CONNELL was born on 19 Nov 1871 in Longfield, Cashel, Tipperary; died on 14 Oct 1929 in Lacknashanagh; was buried in Boherlahan, near Cashel, County Tipperary.
